The animated film Meavy Metal was one of Chris's first involvment with the film industry. Chris worked as a conceptual artist designing costumes and props, as well as developping the look of characters for movies like "Willow" and "King Arthur; he also produced many images for posters, video covers and other promotional material for various movies.

In July 2011, BBC Books has launched their range of classic novelisations with the republication of several books from the original Target range of the 1970s. The first six novelisations feature their original cover designs and illustrations by Chris Achilleos.
